guitar 1The A. Kasteyev State Museum of Arts invites you to a musical vernissage Nostalgic Guitar on October 5, 2017! The laureates of the republican and international contests Zaure and Asan Narbutayevs will perform the works of Spanish, Russian and Kazakh composers, including Jipsy King, Rodrigo and Gabriella duo, Sergei Rudnev, Nurgissa Tlendiev and others. We have introduced a lot of musical instruments on our musical vernissages, but it is a first time we present the classical solo guitar. 

The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that usually has six strings. It is an ancient and noble instrument, whose history can be traced back over 4000 years.

suleimenov 1On September 20, 2017, at 16.00 an official opening of the Solo Exhibition With Love & Joy by Timur Suleimenov will take place at the A. Kasteyev Museum of Arts. The exhibition is a charity project of the museum to provide health and creativity assistance to Timur Suleimenov – well known art worker of Kazakhstan’s art.

More than 50 artworks will be on display, the majority of them are not known by audience.

migrants 1On 5 September, 2017, an official opening of the photoexhibition Migrants: An Invisible force in Central Asia took place at the A. Kasteyev Museum of the Fine Arts. The exhibition was organized by  IOM/UN Migration Agency, Sub-regional coordination office for Central Asia in partnership with the Kasteyev Museum (Almaty, Kazakhstan).

The exhibition showcase more than forty photographs with their accompanying texts, as submitted by Central Asian Artists/Photographers and University Students, as well as stories shared by two Central Asian writers who participate in the project.

charm of classic 1A. Kasteyev Museum of Arts invites you to the Musical Vernissage The Charm of Classic on September 7, 2017, at 19.00. Famous Almaty’s Mayor Concert Orchestra under the direction of Murat Serkebayev will perform world classic’s masterpieces and splendid works of Kazakh composers Kyrmangazy, Zhaya Musa and others. The public will also enjoy the soloists of the orchestra – Dzhamilya Serkebayeva (violin), Abay Opera & Ballet Theater’s leading singers – Oleg Tatamirov and Elena Nikonova. 

Almaty’s Mayor Concert Orchestra was established in 1965. Since 1975 till present time the orchestra has been directed by People Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the Union of Composers of Kazakhstan and former USSR Murat Serkebayev.
